Maple Grove Girls Hockey Shuts Out Wayzata, Wins Fifth in a Row
The Maple Grove girls hockey team won their fifth consecutive game with a 7-0 shutout win over Wayzata.
Bella Shipley scored twice in the first period to give the Crimson a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Hadley Bakker and Grace Erickson each scored in the second and Maple Grove got three scores in the third, coming from Maisy Tomlinson, Shipley, and Abbey Oakland.
In addition to her hat trick, Shipley also recorded an assist to lead the Crimson with four points on the night.
Erickson put up three points and Bakker two.
Senior goalkeeper Dani Strom recorded her eighth shutout of the season, tied for second best in the state.
Maple Grove now holds a 16-6-1 record on the season. Wayzata drops to 6-14-2 on the year.
