Maple Grove Girls Hockey Shoots for Strong Season
The Maple Grove girls hockey team is ranked fifth in the pre-season class AA poll.
The Crimson did graduate some key seniors from last season’s state tournament team, but they have good young talent.
That includes Penn State signee Stella Retrum, one of the top offensive threats in the state, and outstanding goalie Dani Strom.
Maple Grove has played in three of the past four state tournaments.
They opened the 2022-23 season with a 2-0 win over Centennial, the team they beat in the Section 5AA final last season.
