Maple Grove Girls Hockey Set for Section Final
The Maple Grove girls hockey team survived a good test in the semifinals to advance to the Section 5AA final.
The Crimson scored two goals in the first minute of the game, then held off a Champlin Park/Coon Rapids rally for a 4-3 win in the semifinals.
That puts Maple Grove into Friday’s final, where they’ll face Centennial/Spring Lake Park for a third straight season in the championship game.
The Crimson beat the Cougars twice in the regular season this winter.
It’s the fifth consecutive trip to the section final for Maple Grove.
