Maple Grove Girls Hockey Falls to Edina in Back-and-Forth Thriller
The Maple Grove girls hockey team battled back from a 2-0 deficit against Edina, but the Hornets scored three unanswered goals in the third and won a battle of top 10 teams by a score of 6-4.
The Hornets earned goals from Camille Dubuc and Lorelai Nelson in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
Edina added one more goal in the second, but the Crimson turned the tide by scoring four goals from four different players: Cate Fischer, Addison Doherty, Abbey Oakland, and Harper Wieneke to take a 4-3 lead after two periods.
Edina responded with three unanswered goals in the third to secure the non-conference win over the Crimson.
Maple Grove is now 12-6-3 on the season after the loss to the Hornets.
