Maple Grove Girls Hockey Falls in OT to Andover
The Maple Grove girls hockey team lost 2-1 to Andover in overtime Tuesday, the Crimson’s second one-goal loss to the third-ranked Huskies this season.
After a scoreless first period Bella Shipley opened the scoring for the Crimson with a shorthanded goal in the second; her 15th goal of the season.
The game remained 1-0 until Mackenzie Jones scored a powerplay with under five minutes to play in the third period.
The teams went to overtime and Courtney Little’s goal with 1:53 to play won it for the Huskies.
Dani Strom made 41 saves in goal for the Crimson.
Andover improved to 11-2-3 while Maple Grove fell to 11-6-1.
