Maple Grove Girls Hockey Falls 1-0 to Andover
The Maple Grove girls hockey team began their holiday break with a 1-0 loss to Andover at the Edina Girls Hockey Walser Tournament.
Both the Crimson and Huskies came into the game ranked in the top 10 in the state in Class AA with Maple Grove ranked sixth and Andover ranked fifth.
The only score of the game came from a goal off Avery Kasick’s stick at the eleven minute mark of the second period.
The Crimson were able to keep it a one score game in large part due to the play from senior goalkeeper Dani Strom, who saved 33 of 34 shots.
Maple Grove is now 9-3-1 on the season. The Crimson will play Grand Rapids/Greenway and another opponent TBD to close out the Walser Tournament at Braemar Arena.
