Maple Grove Girls Hockey Eliminated by Centennial
The Maple Grove girls hockey team was eliminated from the 2021 post-season with a 4-1 loss to Centennial in the Section 5AA final.
Lauren O’Hara scored two goals for the Cougars as they advanced to the state tournament for the first time in three years.
The Crimson won the 5AA title the past two seasons and had defeated Centennial twice in the regular season.
Stella Retrum scored the lone goal for Maple Grove (15-5-0).
Centennial (16-5-0) faces second-seeded Edina in the state tournament quarterfinals Saturday at Xcel Energy Center.
