Maple Grove Girls Hockey Advances to Section 5AA Final with 4-1 Win over River Cities
Cate Fischer scored twice in the first period to help lead Maple Grove to their eighth straight Section 5AA girls hockey final.
The Crimson took a 2-1 lead after the first period. Callie Alphin netted River Cities’ lone goal in between Fischer’s goals.
Maisy Tomlinson responded early in the second period with a great shot on net that was tipped by Harper Wieneke and went in.
Abbie Benson scored an empty-netter in the third and Bella Prosser recorded 29 saves for Maple Grove.
The Crimson will face Centennial/Spring Lake Park on Friday in the 5AA final. River Cities season ends with a 16-11 record.
