Maple Grove Girls Basketball Wins Big in Section Semifinals
The Maple Grove girls basketball team advanced the section final of the 5AAAA tournament with a 79-52 win over Champlin Park in the semifinals.
The Crimson jumped out to a 47-20 halftime lead, largely on the offense of Jordan Ode and Claire Stern who combined for 35 first-half points.
Ode finished the night with a game-high 28 points while Stern netted 19 and Kate Holmquist 11.
Mariah Pates and Reese Hagenbart scored 10 points each for the Rebels (11-17).
Maple Grove (23-4) plays Mounds View (16-12) for the 5AAAA title Thursday night at 7:00 pm at Anoka High School.
The Crimson are shooting for their first section title since 2019.
