Maple Grove Girls Basketball Team Loses to STMA
The Maple Grove girls basketball team lost to St. Michael-Albertville 70-52 in the Section 8AAAA final.
The Crimson shot the ball well early and had the lead for the first portion of the game.
The Knights surged before halftime to take a 34-27 lead into halftime.
After STMA pushed its lead to double figures, Maple Grove battled back to within six.
But the Knights pulled away from there to win the section title after Maple Grove had won it the past two seasons.
Abby Schulte had 13 points to lead the Crimson, with Kylie Baranick adding 12 and Jordyn Lamker 11.
Mackenzie Kramer scored 22 and Tessa Johnson 17 for the Knights.
