Maple Grove Girls Basketball Takes Down Providence Academy in State Showdown
The Maple Grove girls basketball team won a back-and-forth battle with Providence Academy by a score of 86-80 on Friday night.
In the loss, Lions’ sophomore guard Maddyn Greenway eclipsed the 3,000 point career milestone, becoming just the second sophomore in state history to pass that mark.
Greenway ended up with 44 points on the night. Ari Peterson scored 14 points and Brooke Hohenecker chipped in 11 for Providence.
Jordan Ode scored a season-high 33 points to pace the Crimson. Both Claire Stern and Ava Cossette added 17 points.
Maple Grove closed out the game on 12-2 run to pick up the win.
The Crimson are now 16-3 on the season while Providence Academy drops to 17-4.
