Maple Grove Girls Basketball Scores Season-Opening Win at Wayzata
The Maple Grove girls’ basketball team used an 18-3 scoring run the first half to give them the lead for good in the team’s 68-50 win over Wayzata Tuesday.
Four players scored in double figures for the Crimson—Claire Stern (18 points), Jordan Ode (15), Ava Cossette (13), and Kate Holmquist (10). Addie Hanna added nine points off the bench.
Kate Amelotte led the Trojans in scoring with 18 points and Katie Kelzenberg netted 14. Maple Grove led 29-24 at halftime and outscored the Trojans 39-26 in the second half.

Maple Grove plays Champlin Park in their conference opener Thursday and then faces Eastview in the first game of the Tip-Off Classic Friday at Hopkins.
Wayzata plays Lakeville South in the Tip-Off Classic on Friday night and Rosemount on Saturday.
