Maple Grove Football Sidelined for Playoffs by COVID
The Maple Grove football team is one of a long list of teams sidelined from the playoffs by COVID-19.
The Crimson didn’t get to play their last scheduled regular season game against Champlin Park, either.
Maple Grove built a 4-1 record and had really started to play well before the shutdown.
Crimson coach Matt Lombardi said telling his team the season was over was tougher than any playoff loss he’s experienced.
The number of schools shutting down their football teams due to the virus is growing daily.
Park Center, Hopkins, Brooklyn Center and Providence Academy in the CCX area also are missing the playoffs.
