Maple Grove Football Overpowers STMA to Move to 7-0
The Maple Grove football team scored 28 second-quarter points Thursday on the way to a 56-7 win over St. Michael-Albertville.
The Knights scored on their opening drive of the game, driving eighty yards and capped off by a three-yard Sam Anderson touchdown run.
Maple Grove rushed for 221 yards and passed for 199 in the game.
Patrick Wright ran for 86 yards and three touchdowns while James Engle rushed for two scores.
Crimson quarterback Kaden Harney threw for one score and ran for another.
Maple Grove (7-0, # 2 in Class 6A) closes out the regular season Thursday afternoon at fourth-ranked Minnetonka (5-1).
