Maple Grove Football Routs Edina in State Quarterfinals
The Maple Grove football team rolled up 446 yards of total offense and held a high-scoring Edina team without a point for nearly three quarters as the Crimson routed the Hornets 42-12 in the state Class 6A quarterfinals.
Defensively, Maple Grove cornerback Brayden Dozier intercepted Mason West twice in the first half. West had only thrown two interceptions all season before Thursday night.
Four different players rushed for touchdowns in the game for the Crimson while Kaden Harney completed 9 of 11 passes and two touchdowns.
Maple Grove (11-0) advances to the state semifinals next Friday night at U.S. Bank Stadium against the winner of Friday’s Shakopee-Mounds View game.
