Maple Grove Football Rallies to Beat Wayzata
The Maple Grove football team rallied from a 3-0 halftime deficit to score three second half touchdowns and beat Wayzata 21-3 in a match-up of ranked teams.
Derrick Jameson scored on touchdown runs of 84 and 50 yards in the second half and the Crimson also scored on a trick play with wide receiver Cole Newell throwing a touchdown pass to quarterback Jacob Kilzer.
The Trojans got their only points on a 32-yard Andy Vrudny field goal just before halftime.
It was the second straight game Wayzata (4-2) was held without a touchdown.
Maple Grove (5-1) forced the Trojans into three turnovers and also blocked a Wayzata punt.
