Maple Grove Football Rallies for Win at Minnetonka to Go 8-0
The Maple Grove football team remains the only unbeaten team in Class 6A following their 31-21 win at Minnetonka Thursday.
The Crimson fell behind the Skippers 14-0 in the first half but rallied to tie the game before halftime on two short Kaden Harney to Dylan Vokal touchdown passes.
Maple Grove went ahead in the third quarter on another Haden-Vokal touchdown pass (43 yards) before Tonka tied the game early in the fourth quarter.
The Crimson took the lead for good with a defensive score. Will Raymond forced a Caleb Francois fumble in the endzone and Bo Draheim recovered for a touchdown.
After Jack Weigel intercepted a Francois pass on the next drive, Nate Sievers hit a 45-yard field goal for the game’s final points.
Maple Grove (8-0) hosts Burnsville in first round of the 6A playoffs on Friday October 25th.
