Maple Grove Finishes Fifth at Preview Invitational Golf
The Maple Grove boys’ golf team finished fifth out of 16 teams at the 36-hole Preview Invitational tournament over the weekend.
The annual two-day event at Edinburgh USA featured the defending state Class 3A team champion Maple Grove along with several other strong teams.
Edina won the Preview with a team stroke total of 590, two shots better than runner up Spring Lake Park.
Eastview and Eden Prairie tied for third (608) with Maple Grove scoring 609 for the fifth-place finish.
Jake Birdwell of Spring Park shot a two-under par score of 142 (71-71) with the state’s top-ranked golfer, Nate Stevens of Northfield, finished second at 144 (72-72).
Ryan Stendahl was Maple Grove’s top finisher, placing 16th with a score of 152 (73-79).
