Maple Grove Dominates Section 5AAA Girls Golf Tournament
The Maple Grove girls golf team advanced to the state tournament with a dominant showing at the Section 5AAA tournament.
The Crimson finished 84 strokes ahead of second place Roseville, shooting a two-day total of 616 to easily take the team title.
Maple Grove had four of the top six finishers at Links at NorthFork, including all three Contreras sisters.
Blaine’s outstanding Kathyrn VanArragon won the individual title by seven shots, finishing three under par.
Maple Grove’s Lauren Contreras was second, with Crimson teammate Amelia Morton fourth.
Twin sisters Julia and Maria Contreras finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The state tournament is June 15-16 at Bunker Hills Golf Course.
