Maple Grove Boys Soccer Set for State Tournament
The Maple Grove boys soccer team survived a big challenge from Champlin Park in the Section 5AAA final, beating the Rebels in a shootout.
Now Maple Grove is set for the state class AAA tournament.
The Crimson earned the number two seed for the tournament with their 17-0-1 record. Minneapolis Washburn (14-0-3) is the top seed.
Maple Grove takes on Rochester Mayo in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at White Bear Lake High School.
Maple Grove finished second in the state tournament last season.
