Maple Grove Boys Hockey Upset in 5AA Semifinals
Chase Nadeau’s goal 4:25 into overtime lifted the Andover boys hockey team to a 3-2 win over Maple Grove in the Section 5AA semifinals.
The Crimson were the top seed in 5AA and looked to get back to state after missing out the last two seasons.
Lane Glende opened the scoring for Maple Grove with a goal in the first minute of the second period off a pass from Wyatt Kuznik.
After Andover tied it in the third, Maple Grove went back in front on Cole Anderson’s powerplay goal.
The Huskies rallied to tie with under six minutes to play on Jack Rykkeli’s goal, setting up their overtime winner.
The Crimson finish the season with a record of 16-9-2.
Andover meets Centennial for the 5AA title on Thursday.
