Maple Grove Boys Hockey Team Wins Section 5AA Title
The Maple Grove boys hockey team beat Blaine 3-0 to win the Section 5AA title.
Jack Wieneke made 45 saves to earn the shutout for the Crimson.
Maple Grove lost both regular season meetings to the Bengals, but got the win they really wanted.
Maple Grove scored once in each period, with Henry Nelson, Joshua Giuliani, and Chris Kernan scoring.
It’s Maple Grove’s third trip to the state tournament.
Seeding takes place Saturday.
The state class AA tournament starts Thursday March 5th.
