Maple Grove Boys Hockey Team Wins 10th Straight
The Maple Grove boys hockey team won its 10th straight game Thursday, beating Rogers 7-3.
The Crimson, ranked number one in the state in Class AA, got goals from Kyle Kukkonen and Chris Kernan to take a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Trent Peluf scored the only goal of the second period for Rogers to pull the Royals within 2-1.
But Maple Grove outscored Rogers 5-2 in the third period. Ian Barbour scored twice in the third with five other Crimson also netting a goal in the game.
Maple Grove has scored at least seven goals in nine of its 10 wins.
Rogers is now 7-3 on the season and hosts Centennial Saturday night.
Maple Grove (10-0) plays its next five games on the road.
