Maple Grove Boys Hockey Set for State Tournament
The Maple Grove boys’ hockey team is just hours away from the program’s fourth straight state tournament appearance.
The Crimson (22-5-1) open the Class AA tournament with an 11:00 am game Thursday against Cretin-Derham Hall, a team they beat 6-3 in late December.
Maple Grove has outscored opponents this year 148-52 and are hoping to bring home the school’s first state championship in hockey.
They are the second seed in the tournament behind Minnetonka.
The Crimson lost last year in overtime of the AA final to Andover.
