Maple Grove Boys Hockey Rides Win Streak
The Maple Grove boys’ hockey team is continuing to play solid hockey as the Crimson enter 2023 riding a seven-game winning streak.
Maple Grove (9-2-0) beat STMA, Cretin-Derham Hall and top-ranked Wayzata in last week’s inaugural Premier Holiday Classic in the Grove tournament at the Maple Grove Community Center.
The wins have moved the team up to number four in the latest state Class AA rankings.
The Crimson have combined balanced scoring, solid defensive zone play and good goaltending during the winning streak.
Maple Grove faces another tough test Thursday night when they play at Andover (7-4-1), the team that beat the Crimson in last year’s state championship game.
