Maple Grove Boys Hockey Blanks Centennial
The Maple Grove boys hockey team blanked Centennial 6-0 Saturday, advancing to this week’s Section 5AA final.
Josh Giuliani scored twice in the first period, once shorthanded and once on the powerplay to put Maple Grove ahead 2-0.
Chayton Fischer added another goal late in the first to give the Crimson a 3-0 lead after one.
Nathan Jaglo, Blake Steenerson, and Finn Brink also scored for Maple Grove.
Toby Hopp stopped 22 shots in net to record the shutout.
Maple Grove (20-6-1) now faces Rogers (19-7-1) in the Section 5AA championship game Thursday night at Elk River.
