Maple Grove Boys Hockey Beats Moorhead
The Maple Grove boys hockey team bounced back from an opening night loss to beat Moorhead 5-2 in the third place game of the CCX Media Turkey Trot boys hockey tournament.
The Crimson lost 6-5 in overtime to Edina Friday in the tournament semifinals but led all the way against the Spuds. Daniel Nelson scored two goals for Maple Grove while Jack Kernan and Landen Gunderson each recorded two points in the win.
Toby Kopp made 27 saves in net for the Crimson. Maple Grove (1-1) opens up Northwest Suburban Conference play on Thursday against Champlin Park (2-0).
