Maple Grove Boys Hockey Beats Andover to Advance to State Semifinals
The Maple Grove boys hockey team beat Andover 5-2 in the state class AA quarterfinals Wednesday night.
It’s the third win of the season for the Crimson over their Northwest Suburban Conference rivals.
It’s also the first time Maple Grove has won in the quarterfinals in their fourth trip to the state tournament.
Ian Barbour scored two goals for the Crimson.
Henry Nelson had a goal and an assist, with Ethan Elias and Josh Giuliani each posting two assists.
Number four seed Maple Grove now faces top seed Eden Prairie in the semifinals Friday night.
