Maple Grove Boys Basketball Shoots for Big Season
The Maple Grove boys basketball team looks to have one of its most talented squads ever this winter.
The Crimson went 23-9 and placed third in class AAAA last season.
They return two big keys to that team in standout forward Baboucarr Ann, who averaged 15 points per game last season and is one of the state’s top juniors, and senior forward Henry Knutson, who averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds last winter.
They also added transfers Max Iversen from Delano and 7-footer Jack Thelen from St. Michael-Albertville.
After opening the season at home against St. Paul Como Tuesday night, Maple Grove plays DeLaSalle Saturday at Hopkins.
