Maple Grove Boys Basketball Pulls Away to Beat Apple Valley at State Tournament
The Maple Grove boys basketball team dominated the second half to pull away for a 74-51 win over Apple Valley in the state class AAAA quarterfinals Tuesday at Target Center.
The Crimson led for much of the first half but the margin was just four at halftime at 32-28.
Apple Valley had only eight field goals in the second half as the Crimson blew the game open and cruised to the win.
Keegan Harney scored 16 in the first half and 24 for the game for Maple Grove. Nathan Hromadka had 17 in the second half and 23 total for the Crimson.
Fourth seed Maple Grove now meets top seed Cretin-Derham Hall in the semifinals Thursday.
