Maple Grove Boys Basketball Grits Out 74-63 Win Over Champlin Park
The Maple Grove boys basketball team earned their first win at home this season with a 74-63 win over Champlin Park.
It was both a section and conference win for the Crimson, who are now 3-0 in Northwest Suburban Conference play.
At the half, Maple Grove led by six points and extended the lead to 17 with eight minutes to play, but Champlin Park rallied, led by senior Tyler Wagner, who poured in 25 points and passed the 1,000-point career milestone.
The Crimson were able to pull away late and hold on to the nine-point win.
Keegan Harney paced Maple Grove with 25 points while Henry Knutson added 16 and Baboucarr Ann chipped in 12.
