Maple Grove Boys Basketball Gets Set for State Tournament
The Maple Grove boys basketball team is back in the state tournament after defeating Osseo 73-61 in the Section 5AAAA final.
After placing third a year ago, Maple Grove will shoot for a championship next week, which would be their first in program history.
They are using the extra week between section play and the state tournament to heal up.
That includes standout junior wing Baboucarr Ann, who missed the section final due to illness.
Maple Grove is the third seed for the Class AAAA tournament and faces Alexandria in the quarterfinals Tuesday March 24 at 4:00 p.m. at Target Center.
