Maple Grove Boys Basketball Edges Osseo on Buzzer Beater
A great back and forth battle between District 279 rivals ended in dramatic fashion as Maple Grove’s Baboucarr Ann hit a contested three-pointer at the buzzer to give his team a 61-60 win over Osseo in the Section 5AAAA boys basketball semifinals.
Osseo’s De’Mari Larkins, who was unstoppable down the stretch and had a game-high 30 points, had just given the Orioles a 60-58 lead with a jumper from the right wing with under ten seconds left. Maple Grove rushed it upcourt, only to see the ball knocked away. It rolled right to Ann in the corner and the freshman hit a shot that set off a wild celebration for Maple Grove fans.
Keegan Harney had 18 points to lead the Crimson, while Ann had 15 points off the bench.
