Maple Grove Boys Basketball Edges Champlin Park
The Maple Grove boys basketball team used a balanced attack with four players scoring in double-figures to get a win over Champlin Park, 82-64.
The Crimson and Rebels went back-and-forth in the first half, but Maple Grove made a late push before the break to take a 12-point lead into halftime.
Kaden Harney led the way for the Crimson with 21 points, while Gannon McGuire added 15. Both Henry Stang (20 points, 9 assists) and Nathan Hromadka (10 points, 8 rebounds) nearly recorded double-doubles.
The Rebels were led in scoring by Preston Thielke with 16 points, Amory Peterson put up 13 and Kwatamah Silikpoh chipped in 10.
Maple Grove is now 5-5 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. Champlin Park drops to 5-6 with a 1-4 record in Northwest Suburban Conference play.
