Maple Grove Boys Basketball Dominates Second Half to Beat Elk River
The Maple Grove boys basketball team dominated the second half to pull away for a 73-54 win over Elk River in the Section 8AAAA semifinals.
The teams were tied 27-27 at halftime before the Crimson turned it up a few notches to start the second half.
Maple Grove went on an 11-0 run to begin the half and the Elks never got back in it.
Jon Haakenson scored 30 points to lead the Crimson to the win.
They will get another home game in the section final.
Moorhead upset top seed Brainerd in the other semifinal, meaning the fifth-seeded Spuds will travel to Maple Grove for the final.
