Maple Grove Baseball Edges Osseo in 11 Innings
Nathan Schmidt’s one-out double in the bottom of the 11th inning scored Brody Berglin with the winning run giving the Maple Grove baseball team an 8-7 win over rival Osseo.
The Crimson scored six runs in the first inning to jump out to an early 6-0 lead.
The Orioles answered with single runs in the second and third innings and added four in the fourth to tie the game.
The game went to extra innings where each team scored a run in the eighth with Schmidt’s 11th inning hit accounting for the final run of the game.
Berglin pitched the final five innings for the Crimson to earn the win.
Spencer Pederson had four hits in the game for the Orioles, three of them doubles, and drove in two runs.
Maple Grove improves to 7-9 with the win; Osseo drops to 7-8.
Both teams begin play in the Section 5AAAA tournament on Memorial Day, May 29th.
