Maple Grove Baseball Advances With Extra-Inning Win
Hunter Gerber’s double in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Devin Hornbacher with the winning run as the Maple Grove baseball team edged Mounds View 5-4 in the Section 5AAAA tournament.
Aiden McMahon had three hits and scored three runs for the Crimson. Hornbacher, Tanner Albeck and Zane Vitense scored each had two hits for Maple Grove while McMahon earned the win in relief.
Maple Grove (18-4) plays in the section final Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Osseo High School against the winner of Monday’s elimination bracket final.
