Maple Grove and Blaine Boys Hockey Skate to 3-3 Tie
The Maple Grove boys hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie with Blaine in a battle of Section 5AA opponents.
The Crimson got off to a great start, scoring two goals in the opening period, first from Grady Kranz, followed by another goal from Wyatt Kuznik. Blaine responded with three unanswered goals in the second period to take a one goal advantage.
Maple Grove was able to get on a powerplay late in the third and Cole Anderson netted the game-tying goal with 1:25 left in regulation.
Neither team scored in overtime ending the game in a 3-3 tie. Maple Grove is now 11-5-2 on the season. Blaine’s record is 11-6-3.
