Maple Grove Advances to Semifinals of State Girls Basketball Tournament for Third Straight Year
The Maple Grove girls basketball team led East Ridge for most of their state tournament quarterfinal round game and went on to beat the Raptors 65-53 Wednesday at Williams Arena.
It’s the third year in a row that the Crimson have reached at least the state semifinals.
Sophia Anderson scored 26 points, Kate Holmquist 18 and Lydia Gilbert 11 for the Crimson.
Maple Grove (25-5) now meets defending state champion Hopkins in the semifinal round Thursday at 6:00 pm at Williams Arena.
