Local Wrestlers Place at State Individual Tournament
Wayzata had two second place finishers and two third place winners Saturday at the state class AAA individual wrestling tournament.
Four other local wrestlers earned places on the medal stand.
Wayzata’s Logan Swensen lost 2-1 in an ultimate tiebreaker in the 126-pound final to Alan Koehler of Prior Lake.
The Trojans’ Adam Cherne also had an overtime match in the 170-pound final, losing 4-2 to Marco Christiansen of Minnetonka.
Wayzata’s Luke Koenen (113 pounds) and Charlie Petit (152) placed third.
Taking fifth place: Connor Peterson of Maple Grove (120 pounds) and Chris Ayemere of Champlin Park (Girls 235 pound division).
Sixth place winners were Ben Schultz of Maple Grove (195 pounds) and Patrick Kubisa of Hopkins (160).
