Local Wrestlers Compete at State Individual Tournament
Several local wrestlers hit the mats to compete on day one of the state individual tournament.
Osseo and Wayzata each had five wrestlers in the Class AAA tournament, with Park Center and Maple Grove qualifying two.
First round matches in Class AAA started the day, with many of the top guys from the northwest suburbs winning their matches.
The tournament is back at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul after being held at a high school site due to COVID concerns last year.
The tournament continues Saturday, with championship matches in the late afternoon.
The first-ever separate girls competition takes place Saturday as part of the state tournament.
