Local Wrestlers Advance to State at Section 5AAA Tournament
A number of local wrestlers from the northwest suburbs advanced to the state tournament at the Section 5AAA tournament.
As expected, top-ranked St. Michael-Albertville dominated, winning eight weight classes.
But Wayzata, Osseo, Park Center and Maple Grove each will send multiple wrestlers on to state.
Local section winners in 5AAA include:
106—Luke Koenen, Wayzata
138—Max Johnson, Maple Grove
170—Adam Cherne, Wayzata
182—Ismael Kante, Park Center
195—Aidan Wayne, Osseo
220–Jacob Meissner, Osseo
The state individual tournament in all three classes is Friday and Saturday.
