Local Skaters Compete in NCAA Final
Local skaters competed in the NCAA women’s hockey final as Wisconsin beat Minnesota 2-0.
Wayzata graduate Sophia Shaver scored the first goal of the game for the Badgers.
The senior is a captain for Wisconsin.
Maple Grove graduate Breanna Blesi is a backup goalie for the Badgers.
For Minnesota, captain Kelly Pannek of Plymouth played her final game as a Gopher.
Maple Grove’s Taylor Wente and Breck’s Grace Zumwinkle also played for Minnesota.
