Local Players Skate in Ted Brill Great 8 Hockey Festival
For more than 30 years the Ted Brill Great 8 hockey festival has provided players with an opportunity to be seen by pro scouts and college and junior coaches.
A good number of players from the northwest suburbs skated in the three-day tournament over the weekend in South St. Paul.
Eight teams total competed, with four teams of seniors and four teams of juniors grouped together based on their playoff sections during the high school season.
Maple Grove, Osseo, Champlin Park, Wayzata, Hopkins, Totino-Grace and Benilde-St. Margaret’s had players in the event.
The team of juniors representing Sections 7/8 won the tournament.
