Local Players Help Gophers Outback Bowl Win
Local players from the northwest suburbs helped the Gophers to a huge win in the Outback Bowl.
Minnesota beat Auburn 31-24 to cap an 11-2 season.
Senior linebacker Thomas Barber, an Armstrong graduate, recovered a fumble and had a tackle for loss.
Senior defensive tackle Sam Renner of Maple Grove had a sack.
Sophomore defensive end Boye Mafe, who played for Hopkins, also recorded a sack.
