Local Basketball Players Star at All-Star Weekend
Three girls and seven boys basketball players from the area played in their final high school games over the weekend. The ten were selected to their respective all-star teams, which featured four girls and four boys teams with other seniors from throughout Minnesota. Each of the boys’ teams played two games (Friday-Saturday) while the girls played just one game each on Saturday. The local boys players were Josiah Strong of Champlin Park, Anthony Davis and Joe Hedstrom of Hopkins, Zach Theisen of Osseo, Jarius Cook of Park Center, Beijan Newbern of Maranatha Christian Academy and Joe Dunn from Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The local girls all-stars were Autumn Mlinar of Maple Grove, Jaclyn Jarnot of Maranatha Christian Academy and Angie Hammond of Hopkins.
