Local Golfers Excel at Section 6AAA Tournament
Though Edina captured the girls and boys team titles, golfers from the northwest suburbs fared well at the Section 6AAA tournament.
Armstrong’s Evan Dimich tied with Edina’s Jack Wetzel for the individual title, with each recording two-round totals of 142.
Wayzata’s Dylan Nelko and Wyatt Carlson, Armstrong’s Shane Seiffert, and Max Wolf of Hopkins joined Dimich in qualifying for state as individuals.
Armstrong was second and Wayzata third in the boys team competition behind Edina.
On the girls side, Wayzata’s Sacchi Deshmukh placed third to qualify for state.
Georgia Hinton of Hopkins and Sophia Pung of Armstrong also qualified for state.
Wayzata placed second as a team.
