Local Football Standouts Sign Letters of Intent
Wednesday marked a big day for local high school football standouts in the northwest suburbs as the NCAA National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period started.
Among those signing: Cooper defensive end Jaxon Howard signed with LSU; Maple Grove tight end Sam Peters received a scholarship from the University of Minnesota, while his high school teammate Jackson Powers is a preferred walk-on for the Gophers; and Champlin Park offensive lineman Magnus Wright signed with Northern Iowa.
