Local Boys Teams Eliminated in Semifinals of USA Cup Weekend Soccer
The Fusion SC 19 and under soccer team from Plymouth lost 1-0 to CCL United from Ohio in the semifinal round of the USA Cup soccer tournament.
In the 15U boys’ division MapleBrook, from Maple Grove, lost 2-1 to Minneapolis United. Cater Havelak scored the lone MapleBrook goal.
USA Cup Weekend finished on Sunday while the regular four-day USA Cup tournament starts Tuesday.
Approximately 800 teams from across the country are playing in either or both tournaments. There are no international teams competing this year because of COVID-19.
