Local Athletes Honored at Athena Awards
Over 50 high school senior girls were honored Friday at the annual Athena Awards, recognizing excellence in athletics and academics. Each of the participating Minneapolis-area high schools chooses one senior girl each year to receive the Athena.
The awards started in 1973, one year after the landmark Title IX legislation was passed. 13 girls from our local CCX high schools were honored.
